Magnifier EOTech G45 – Black / STS Mount

Product detailed description

Professional opinion:

A magnifier ... that is a very peculiar thing:

• Without a magnifier, it is very difficult to "read" a target beyond 100 m, and some details already disappear at 50 m. So it is a useful accessory for tactical applications.
• For sporting use it is completely useless. Swinging a fairly noticeable weight away from the firearm's centerline noticeably reduces comfort and accuracy during "rapid IPSC fire," and the gun does not behave well. (More precisely, it behaves like absolute sh....)
• Magnifiers below 5× are apparently already "out of the game" ... although they remain the economical choice.
• And because I am a sport shooter and a "damn civilian," a magnifier is something I would at most lock in a drawer. But for tactical shooters it is an interesting tool.

Key Benefits

• 5× magnification – improves identification of smaller targets and detail at intermediate distances.
• Switch-to-Side mount – moves rapidly between magnified and unmagnified viewing.
• Tool-free adjustment – simplifies horizontal and vertical alignment of the reticle image.
• Adjustable diopter – focuses the image for the individual user's eyesight.
• All-HWS compatibility – pairs with current EOTECH holographic weapon sights.

Product Overview and Intended Use

The EOTECH G45 is a compact 5× magnifier for HWS holographic sights. The G45.STS variant uses a quick-detach Switch-to-Side mount for immediate movement out of the optical path.

Design and Operation

The optic provides a wide field of view, diopter correction and tool-free windage/elevation alignment. The STS mount swings the magnifier aside without removing it from the firearm.

Technical Details

• Magnification: 5×.
• Dimensions: 3.1 × 2.3 × 3.3 in (78.7 × 58.4 × 83.8 mm).
• Weight with mount: 11.3 oz (320 g).
• Mount: quick-detach Switch-to-Side.
• Compatibility: all EOTECH HWS models.

Compatibility and Limitations

The magnifier does not generate a reticle and must be aligned behind a compatible sight. Swinging it aside changes the firearm's balance; also confirm clearance for backup sights and controls.

Practical Note from neoPATRON

Five-power magnification provides more detail than a 3× unit, but requires more consistent head position and eye-box management. It is a strong choice when identification and precision at intermediate distance are priorities.
