Professional shooter's field opinion: 

EOTech makes world-famous red dots used by MilGovLE units around the world. Its riflescopes are much less well known because they have only been in the lineup for the last few years, but they have a good reputation. And because EOTech primarily listens to MilGovLE users (MILitary GOVernment Law Enforcement), it responded to their request by producing an ultra-compact 3-9× medium-power riflescope that can also be equipped with a mount and red dot. This combo is therefore suitable for dynamic SWAT-team shooting, where the user can shoot very precisely at medium and longer distances through the scope and remain extremely fast in CQB through the red dot. It is a very interesting, compact combination that may also be the right equipment for sport and tactical shooters using an AR-15.

But then I looked at it as a sport shooter and said to one "SWAT guy": "Dude, that red dot is mounted completely wrong! It is just TACTICOOL nonsense, where the sight axis through the red dot is about 2 cm away from where it should be. That is why we put our red dots on a 45-degree mount on the Picatinny rail of the upper receiver, so when the rifle is rotated they remain as close as possible to the scope's centerline and the offset is ideally zero." And the "SWAT guy" replied: "And how many times have you shot wearing a mask, FUCKER?!" ... "What do you mean, wearing a mask?"  ... "A mask! We have to be able to shoot in a gas mask, and then you cannot get behind a normal setup. That is why it helps us to have the red dot higher, because we can still use it in CQB."

Well, I did not know that, FUCKER. But I guess that is how it is. So if you are a sport shooter, I would buy the Vudu by itself and put some kind of "backup red dot" on an angled mount. If I have a quality firearm, then something from Shield Sights ;) And if I operate somewhere where using a gas mask is a possibility, then I would buy the combo.

In any event, it is a very nice optic—or combo—that deserves your attention.

Product Overview and Intended Use

The EOTECH Vudu 3-9x32 SFP is an ultra-short medium-power riflescope with an MOA-based HC1 reticle. This configuration combines the scope with a ring mount and EFLX sight for a separate unmagnified aiming solution.

Design and Operation

The aircraft-grade aluminum housing uses capped ¼ MOA turrets, a rotary illumination control and an integrated base. The scope is water, fog and shock resistant.

Compatibility and Limitations

The integrated base uses a mini-ACOG interface; this is not a conventional 30 mm tube intended for two standard rings. The EFLX height and offset create a separate sight axis; verify zero and practical holds with the complete setup.
